"We stand behind every cow we service"

So we found a house that I'm pretty stoked about. I like the floor plan, the yard is big, it's been remodeled, etc. Plus, it's in the ole' price range, so that's a plus, right?

There's a compromise we'd have to make, though. Let me ask you all a question:

Would you live across the street from this sign?

Pretty crazy, eh? Yeah, right in the middle of a nice, quiet residential neighborhood, you've got a sperm bank for cows! Here's a link to the company website.

So what do you say? Is this a deal breaker??? We need opinions!

hahahahahahahahahahaha -

well, if all there is -is a sign -hahahah- and the place looks pretty decent and is not a refuse dump. I would probably go for it.

See which way the wind blows because I lived on a dairy and most days it stunk to high heaven.
This also depends on how many cows and correls they hadve.Maybe down the road they will want to expand and there won't be a whole lot you can do since it was animal based first.

kim,
the place doesn't smell. it's just a building with a gigantic sign that reads "universal SEMEN sales." i suppose all they have there are viles and viles of um, er, ahem... you know....
anyway, just the fact that it's right across the street from us we'd be seeing that sign every time we looked out the window. if anything, i guess it makes a nice landmark. "oh, you're lost? no, it's the one across the street from the huge semen sign. ah, you found it? good deal, see ya soon."

Hahaha! That is so freaking funny! I don't think it'd be a deal breaker on the house for me. Like you said, it is a landmark, lol. It also makes me think of Chris' sister. When they were kids, there was a guy in their ward who artificially inseminated their cows. When she saw him at church one time, she announced fairly loudly, "Hey, he's the guy who gets our cows pregnant!"
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I would laugh every time I saw that sign across the street.

Oh my heck!! I almost laughed out loud when I saw that!!! That is so incredibly funny!!

I say if you really like the house and it doesn't smell, the go for it!!

People will always be able to find your house really easily!!

Well, the question is, would it drive you nuts to see that sign every day? It doesn't seem so bad as long as it doesn't bother you. If you love the house, I'd say take it. Besides, you'll have a funny story to tell your friends and family for years to come. "Guess what we lived right across from in our first house? Just try and guess!"

I say it's not a deal breaker. You would get a good chuckle from it every day. I know I would!

I have to add that the most important part of buying a house is that your wife LOVES it... after all, if she LOVES it, it will become your family's home, and everyone will love it. If she does not love it, it will just be someplace you lived.

You still have a lot of time. Don't rush.

That is pure funniness. I love it. Definitely not a deal breakre in my opinion. Its for cows, not humans right? So my biggest qualm would be if the place stinks....does it? If not, I would say it's not a deal breaker.
