Dear Dad, Today....

Today we drove mom crazy.  I know we shouldn't fight so much, but we do anyway.  Also, the whining was OOC.  We promised to be better tomorrow.

On a happier note, today we went to "Back to School" night at my school.  Mom got to sit in my chair and talk to my teacher while Jacob and I played outside on the playground equipment and ate ice cream bars.  She got to look in my desk and see some of the assignments I've done.  I have a really neat poem book that I can't wait to show you.  First grade is so much better than Kindergarten.  We get to have P.E., eat lunch, have technology (computer class), and we get to have Show n' Tell!  We didn't get to have Show n' Tell in Kindergarten so I'm pretty excited.  I am sad that we only have one recess, though.  We should have more recesses.

We all got super messy from the ice cream bars, but Haven got the messiest.  Mom had to hose us down when we got home.

Oaks Amusement Park

Mike took the little brothers to a movie so Vessel and I could spend some 1-on-1 time at Oaks Amusement Park this past Saturday.  We were joined by some of our very good friends and we all had such a great time.  I think Vessel couldn't have asked for a better day.

Montana, Steven, and Vessel

Riding the "Frog Hopper" by himself.  It's a kid version of the "Drop of Doom."

We got to ride just about every ride together (that he was tall enough for) including the "Spider," the "Disko," and "Eruption."

He actually wasn't quite tall enough for this ride, but the worker didn't check his height, so Vessel was super stoked to get the go-ahead.  He and Montana held hands the entire time!

Me and the little ones.

Knitting Skillz are Way Better Than Nunchuck Skillz

I spent the morning teaching Vessel some basic knitting.  With his new-found skill, he knitted this wrist cuff accessory (or whatever you want to call it) and was so proud of it, he wore it to school this afternoon.

Here he is trying to look tough.

Oh and here are the other kids doing their best to look tough too.

Rollerskating

Vessel's first time on skates was at his friends Julian and Vincent's birthday party.  He has been begging me all night to take him again tomorrow, and the day after that, and after that....

Vessel's 6th Birthday!

The day before Vessel's birthday we took him to a rock climbing gym here in Beaverton and he had a great time!  His fear of heights is still a challenge, but he seems to be doing better!  Look at him conquer that rock wall!  Daddy also took him to Chuck E. Cheese while his brothers napped.  A fun day for this kid!

At the Relief Society Service Auction I bid on a cake from Christie Blake and won.  I told her Vessel's favorite color was red and that he wanted a red cake with chocolate frosting and she provided!

Here he is opening some of his presents.  He wanted a remote control helicopter and that's what he got!

He also received Yahtzee Jr. and some pattern blocks.

And here are my cuties in their matching birthday outfits ready for church.

First Loose Tooth

Tonight my oldest son lost his first tooth.  He is very excited about this new change that signifies growing up!

And I thought I would just add this cute picture.  Vessel left his daddy a note in the laundry basket using these wooden letters.  I love how he improvised and turned the "Q" into an "O" and the "P" into a lowercase "d".  Nice one, buddy!

Twinkies!

C'mon, tell me these kids don't look exactly alike. It's undeniable, they could be twins!

Vessel's Drawings

Vessel had a nightmare. He wanted to draw me the ghostie that scared him out of his sleep.

The day I had baby Haven was the same day Vessel's class learned about babies at preschool. This is the face he drew on the his baby and it cracked me up.

A picture of the new baby with Mom and Dad. Mike looks like a hunchback.

In preschool the kids were supposed to draw something they were grateful for in this cornucopia. Vessel drew his "girlfriend" Yliana.
